Defendant, Barry T. Davis, was charged with and convicted by a twelve-person jury of attempted aggravated rape (La.R.S. 14:27:42) and was sentenced to twenty-one years at hard labor. Defendant urges four assignments of error: (1) the evidence in support of the conviction is insufficient; (2) the sentence imposed is excessive; (3) the trial judge failed to comply with the requirements of La.C.Cr.P. art. 894.1; and (4) any errors patent.
