Appellants Charles and Theresa Black (the Blacks), defendants in an unlawful detainer action filed by Coast Savings and Loan Association (Coast), sought a writ of supersedeas from this court to stay the effect of a stipulated judgment whereby Coast was to obtain immediate possession of a house occupied by the Blacks.
