The defendant, Armando Batista, and co-defendant, Wandolyn Press, were charged by bill of information in count one with possession with intent to distribute cocaine in violation of R.S. 40:967. Armando Batista was charged also with three counts of attempted first degree murder in violation of R.S. 14:27 and 14:30. The defendants were arraigned on March 5, 1985 and pled not guilty.
