MOORE, Justice.

During the summer of 1982, Thomas Wickwire crash-landed his plane when it ran out of gas about ten miles from Fairbanks. He brought suit against Arctic Circle Air Services, claiming they were negligent in returning the plane to him with leaking fuel caps.
