James and Murilda Hayes (the Hayeses) appeal a verdict in which the jury awarded Mr. Hayes $50,000 and Mrs. Hayes $10,000 for injuries sustained from an automobile collision with Charles Green (Green), an employee of Xerox Corporation (Xerox).
