David Charles Cuny was charged with assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault with a dangerous weapon. The charges resulted from his involvement in an altercation at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. After a jury trial, Cuny was convicted of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and acquitted of assault with a dangerous weapon.
