On May 29, 1984, the defendant, Kallan Arvie, was charged by grand jury indictment with forcible rape, in violation of La. R.S. 14:42.1. On December 12 through 14, 1984, the defendant was tried by a twelve person jury that found him guilty as charged. On April 12, 1985, the trial court sentenced the defendant to serve nine years at hard labor with credit for time served, and at least two years of that sentence is without benefit of parole, probation...
