After a jury trial in Marquette, Michigan, John E. Olson was convicted of violating a federal statute which prohibits any person from "knowingly and willfully ... [making] any threat to take the life of or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States ..."1 At the close of all the evidence, defendant moved for a judgment of acquittal...
