Appellee Kerr-McGee Corporation owned and operated a fixed platform on the outer Continental Shelf. This platform was used to extract oil, gas, and other minerals from the seabed. On March 2 and 6, 1984, appellant John Wentz, while employed by Kerr-McGee as an electrician, was injured aboard this platform as a result of a fellow employee's negligence.
