Rebecca Jordan was charged by bill of information with possession of pentazocine (Talwin), a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 C. Prior to trial, the state amended the bill to charge possession of pentazocine with intent to distribute, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 A and B. Defendant plead not guilty and, after trial by jury, was found guilty as charged. She was sentenced to serve ten years at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole or suspension...
