STEPHENS, Justice.

Roger F. Garrels appeals by writ of error from a default judgment rendered in favor of Wales Transportation. Garrels contends that the trial court lacked personal jurisdiction because he was not properly served with process and that the trial court erred in entering a default judgment upon an unliquidated claim without holding an evidentiary hearing.
