John Edward DeVooght, III, was convicted in Oklahoma County District Court of Murder in the First Degree and punishment was assessed at life imprisonment.

Appellant was tried before a jury for the murder of six-year-old Patricia Carter who had been found raped, sodomized, and beaten to death in a field near her home on the morning of October...
