The record reveals that at approximately 10:00 a.m. on January 31, 1985, the manager of the Wooden Shoe Cafe, Floyd Whaley, was returning from the bank where he had withdrawn approximately $31,000 of the cafe's money. As he exited his car, a man in a hooded, gray jogging suit knocked him to the ground and took approximately $20,000 of the cash.
