On October 8, 1985, the trial court entered a decree dissolving the marriage of John C. Clark ("John") and Janet M. Clark ("Janet"). Custody of their only child, a boy born September 17, 1981, was awarded to John, with Janet receiving extensive temporary custody at specifically scheduled times. The decree, after setting apart to each party such party's separate property, and dividing the marital property, awarded Janet $4,000 "alimony in gross"...
