David Robins (defendant) was indicted by the East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury and charged with aggravated rape, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42. He pled not guilty, elected a bench trial, and was convicted as charged. The trial court imposed the mandatory sentence of life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspended sentence.
