This is an original action in mandamus in which relator, Sanford Prudoff, seeks back pay and benefits for the period for which he was excluded from employment. In March 1973, Prudoff was hired as Director of Community Development for the city of Lorain. On January 2, 1980, he was dismissed from that position by the then newly elected mayor.
