During dissolution proceedings in 1981, the parties entered into a stipulation for joint legal and physical custody of their one-year-old son. In March 1982 respondent Mark Rude moved for a change of custody. Appellant Cheryl Chafin did the same. The trial court awarded sole legal and physical custody to the mother in March 1983.
