This appeal arises from an accident that occurred at the Olin Corporation ("Olin") chemical manufacturing plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana. One of the many units at the plant produces toluene diisocyanate ("TDI"), a material used to produce urethane foam, which in turn is used in the production of furniture, carpet padding, pillows, mattresses and insulation.
