This is an appeal by plaintiff Louisiana Materials Company from the trial court's maintaining of exceptions of no cause of action filed by defendant Atlantic Richfield Company ["ARCO"].

Between August 17 and 23, 1983, plaintiff Louisiana Materials delivered clam shells to Luke Construction Company ["Luke"], a general contractor for ARCO. The primary function of the shells was to provide support for a pipeline which ran from a petroleum plant...
