Plaintiff, Leonard D. Hofstetter, was employed by Daniel International Corporation (Daniel) as an operating engineer. Daniel was the independent general contractor of defendant, Union Electric Company, and was engaged in the construction of Union Electric's Callaway nuclear power plant.
