This is a suit for damages arising out of a motor vehicle collision.

On September 15, 1975, plaintiff, Sylvester Dartez, was injured when the car in which he was a passenger was rear-ended by an 18-wheel tractor-trailer. At the time of the accident, the tractor-trailer was owned by Adam Dixon, leased by Big Chief Truck Lines, Inc. (Big Chief-Louisiana), and driven by Sammie Sossaman.1 On the date of the accident...
