This is an appeal of a sentence for constitutional excessiveness. The defendant, Emilye Chapman, was charged by bill of information with one count of felony theft of money in excess of $500. LSA-R.S. 14:67. After first pleading not guilty, she changed her plea to guilty and the district judge sentenced her to three years at hard labor.
