This concursus proceeding was invoked by Chevron U.S.A., Inc. (Chevron) because of claims made on royalties flowing from mineral production on a certain tract of land by both the State of Louisiana (the State) and Lorraine Lorio and other members of her family (the Lorios). After trial on the merits, judgment was rendered in favor of the Lorios and the State brought this suspensive appeal.
