Marvin Dale Roy was charged by bill of information with aggravated escape, in violation of La.R.S. 14:110, and the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in violation of La.R.S. 14:95.1. He waived his right to a jury trial on the aggravated escape charge only. After a bench trial, defendant was convicted of the responsive offense of simple escape.
