Defendant appeals after his conviction by a jury. The court found defendant to be a dangerous and persistent offender and sentenced him to consecutive terms of imprisonment of forty years for forcible rape, forty years for forcible sodomy, thirty years for kidnapping, ten years for armed criminal action, ten years for one count of unlawful use of a weapon, and ten years for a second count of unlawful use of a weapon. He was acquitted on one count...
