Appellant Larry Wayne Simien was tried before a jury for the offense of aggravated robbery alleged to have occurred in Leon County, Texas, on April 10, 1983. He was charged with having robbed one J.D. Shipp, a clerk in a convenience store in Oakwood, Texas, by threatening him with a hunting knife.
