HAYS, Justice.

Tommy Mason contends on appeal that his conviction of first degree murder with a sentence of life imprisonment must be reversed because of insufficient evidence. We disagree.

The test for determining the sufficiency of the evidence is whether there is substantial evidence to support the verdict. Substantial evidence must be forceful enough to compel a conclusion one way or another beyond suspicion and conjecture, Perry v. State,
