This appeal concerns the custody of Michael Harris, now age four. The appellants are the maternal grandparents, the respondent is Mike's father. Shortly after Mike was born, on June 16, 1980, his natural mother, Kim Harris, gave him to her mother, Virginia Bruckshaw, and her stepfather, Jim Bruckshaw, to raise.
