The plaintiff, Emily McHargue, filed her workers' compensation claim on 23 July 1980 seeking compensation for chronic lung disease caused by exposure to cotton dust. The Deputy Commissioner, in an opinion and award filed 26 January 1983, found that McHargue's exposure to cotton dust did not result in an occupational disease and denied the claim.
