Defendant-appellant, William King, was charged in Canandaigua City Court with the offense of menacing in violation of Penal Law § 120.15. He was arraigned on August 2, 1983 and entered a not guilty plea. On March 30, 1984 a nonjury trial was held before Canandaigua City Court Judge, Honorable Stephen D.
