Cloveal Gordon, III was originally charged by bill of information with one count of felony theft. Prior to trial on the merits, the bill of information was amended to charge Gordon with the instant one count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, a violation of L.S.A.-R.S. 14:62.2. He pled not guilty on the amended charge and, after a jury trial, was found guilty as charged. The trial court sentenced Gordon to six years imprisonment at hard labor...
