This is a "slip and fall" case in which the plaintiff, Robert Mitchell, sued the liability insurer for Sunflower Supermarket in Slidell, Louisiana for damages allegedly sustained when plaintiff slipped and fell while shopping in the supermarket. The issue before this court is whether the defendant, after proof by plaintiff that a foreign substance present on the floor of the store caused him to slip and fall, presented sufficient proof to exculpate...
