Union Electric Company is an investor owned electric utility serving the St. Louis metropolitan area, other parts of Missouri, and parts of three other states. In 1975 it sought and received a certificate of convenience and necessity from the Missouri Public Service Commission to commence construction of two nuclear reactor power plants in Callaway County, Missouri.
