This is an appeal from a conviction of the unauthorized practice of law pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) § 605-14.1 The charge arose from a February 29, 1984 letter to Honolulu attorney Jay Fidell in which Appellant Martin Gilbert claimed to "represent" a "client," Pamela Harrison.
