Appellant Cecil Lee Williams was convicted for attempted murder in the second degree, kidnapping and assault in the second degree in violation of Minn.Stat. §§ 609.11, 609.17, 609.19, 609.25, subd. 1(3) and (2), and 609.222 (1982), following an incident in which he fired a gun at his former girlfriend and a third party.
