On October 23, 1979, after a jury trial in the Detroit Recorder's Court, defendant was found not guilty of felonious assault, MCL 750.82; MSA 28.277, and guilty of possession of a firearm at the time of the commission or attempted commission of a felony, MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2).
