CAMERON, Justice.

Defendant, Donald James Lucas, was convicted by a jury of two counts of kidnapping, A.R.S. § 13-1304; three counts of sexual assault, A.R.S. § 13-1406; and one count of aggravated assault, A.R.S. § 13-1204. Each offense was of a dangerous nature and committed while defendant was on release from confinement for prior felonies. A.R.S. § 13-604.01. Defendant was sentenced to serve a term of life imprisonment for each offense.
