Appellant was convicted by the trial court sitting without a jury of carrying a pistol without a license, D.C. Code § 22-3204 (1981), possession of an unregistered firearm, id. § 6-2311, and possession of ammunition without valid registration, id. § 6-2361 (amended 1983). He argues on appeal that he was deprived of his constitutional right to trial by jury because the trial court failed to inquire whether he wished...
