On September 20, 1984, a jury sitting in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County (Melbourne, J.) convicted appellant Julius Sylvester Bailey (hereinafter "appellant") of first degree (felony) murder, kidnapping, robbery and related offenses, rape in the first degree while armed, attempted rape in the first degree while armed, and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence. Appellant was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 65 years...
