The appellees, Marguerite Cook, Dorothy Ebner, Diane Ruggiero Leicht, and Iris Torres, brought this action in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City against their former employer, appellant Rite-Aid of Maryland, Inc. (Rite-Aid), and certain Rite-Aid officers, including appellants Anthony Moniodis and James H. Spevock.
