Mrs. Bordelon slipped and fell as she left the emergency room entrance of Savoy Memorial Hospital (Savoy). Mrs. Bordelon and her husband sued Savoy and its liability insurer, Western World Insurance Company, Inc. (Western), seeking recovery for her personal injuries and for medical expenses incurred as a result of her fall.
