In March 1978 appellant McKenzie's husband was struck and killed by a train owned by appellee Seaboard System Railroad, Inc. ("Seaboard"), and operated by appellee Barronton. Acting both individually and as administratrix for the decedent's estate, Mrs. McKenzie brought a wrongful death action in March 1980 against appellees, alleging that they were jointly and severally liable and seeking damages in the amount of several hundred thousand dollars...
