The defendant, the planning commission of the city of Meriden, appealed from the judgment of the trial court sustaining the appeal of the plaintiffs1 from a decision of the defendant. That decision had denied the plaintiffs' application for site plan approval to use certain property as a retail outlet for gasoline products, and for retail stores, an automobile service center and a restaurant.
