FELDMAN, Justice.

Mitchell L. Johnson (defendant) was convicted of attempted first degree murder and first degree murder. A.R.S. §§ 13-1105, 13-1101 and 13-1001. The trial judge sentenced defendant to life imprisonment with no possibility of parole for twenty-five years for the attempted murder. This sentence was required because the crime was committed while defendant was on parole for a prior felony. A.R.S. § 13-604.01 (renumbered § 13-604.02...
