This is an interlocutory appeal by the State, pursuant to K.S.A. 22-3603, from the order of the district court suppressing use of a statement made by the defendant Karen Mooney after her arrest.

On September 23, 1984, police officers of the city of Hiawatha received a radio dispatch that a complaint had been filed against the defendant for assault with a handgun. The officers were given a description of the van defendant was believed to be driving...
