This is a death penalty case. In 1975, the appellant, Jack Alderman, was convicted in Chatham County for the murder of his wife and sentenced to death. On direct appeal, this court affirmed. Alderman v. State, 241 Ga. 496 (246 S.E.2d 642) (1978). Alderman subsequently obtained federal habeas relief as to sentence on the ground that three prospective jurors had been excused...
