Defendant was convicted in a bench trial of second-degree murder, MCL 750.317; MSA 28.549, assault with intent to commit murder, MCL 750.83; MSA 28.278, and felony-firearm, MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). He was charged with killing one of his daughters and seriously wounding another when he learned that they would testify against him in a forthcoming trial, in which he was accused of murdering a man in Detroit. The trial court sentenced defendant to life...
