In this original proceeding we determine the right to discover an alleged father's state income tax returns for purposes of awarding child support in an action to establish parentage. We conclude such discovery must be deferred until parentage is ascertained. Civil Code sections 4700.7 and 4721, subdivision (d),1 requiring parents to produce tax returns for this purpose, do not apply...
