The issue in this workers' compensation case is whether a grandchild of a decedent killed in an accident which occurred while he was in the scope of his employment was a "child" within the meaning of Minn.Stat. § 176.011, subd. 2 (1982) and, therefore, entitled to dependency benefits. The compensation judge held that the granddaughter was not a "child" and denied dependency benefits. The Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals reversed that decision...
