Relator, Peter Abbey, was discharged by his employer, Contract Programming Specialists, Inc. (CPSI), on July 31, 1984. He applied for unemployment compensation benefits, and a claims deputy determined that he had been discharged for misconduct. Abbey appealed, and a Department referee reversed, concluding that Abbey had been separated for reasons other than misconduct and was therefore entitled to benefits. The referee's decision was...
